Dodgers Notes: Pitcher to Have Tommy John Surgery, Mookie Betts Injured, Trade Idea to Fix Biggest Issues

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees, 8-5, in a World Series rematch on Friday evening. L.A. improved to 35-22 on the year in the first of a three-game set against the Bronx Bombers.

Unfortunately, it was announced before the game that Evan Phillips will have to undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of 2025. He was one of the most effective relievers for the Dodgers last season and had yet to allow a run in his 5.2 innings this season.

Additionally, Mookie Betts was missing from the World Series rematch as he stubbed his toe ahead of the contest.
