Dodgers Notes: Pitcher Joins LA, Ex-Dodger All-Star Offered Contract, Shohei Ohtani Best Start

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Kansas City Royals, 9-5, on Saturday afternoon, snapping a five-game winning streak. L.A. fell to 52-32 on the year despite Shohei Ohtani’s two scoreless innings and a 101.7 mph fastball, which was good for the fastest pitch of his MLB career.

Additionally, a pitcher surprisingly joined the team in Kansas City. Manager Dave Roberts later announced the right-hander was with the team on taxi squad as a precautionary measure.

Finally, an American League powerhouse offered a contract to a former Dodgers All-Star free agent. The designated hitter is still looking for a home in 2025 as he hopes to get a chance to prove he still has some power left in the tank.
