The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins, 12-7, on Wednesday afternoon as they improved to 21-10 with their fifth straight win.
Ahead of the victory, the Dodgers made a major roster move that activated an All-Star who has been away from the majors for over 20 months. In a resulting move, the pitcher who received the win on Tuesday evening was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Additionally, the fifth straight win was without Tommy Edman, who was surprisingly not in the starting lineup for the second time in three days. The utility man had ‘tweaked’ his ankle the night prior and was rested for precautionary purposes.
