The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the San Diego Padres, 5-1, on Saturday and fell to 73-57 on the year. LA is now in second place in the NL West as the Friars overtook them with the win.
Additionally, the Dodgers made a roster move, activating veteran reliever Kirby Yates after his second stint on the injured list this season. In a corresponding move, a star pitcher was placed on the paternity list.
In other news, manager Dave Roberts is considering moving right-fielder Teoscar Hernández to left field. With current left fielder Michael Conforto’s offensive issues, Hernández can fulfill that need with his bat, although there would be some movement in the outfield.
