Dodgers Notes: LA Loses Pitcher, Padres All-Star Talks Dodger Domination, Sweep Over SD

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 5-4, on Sunday and improved to 71-53 on the year thanks to a Mookie Betts solo home run to break the tie in the eighth inning. The defending champions are now two games ahead of the Friars in the NL West after a satisfying sweep of the divisional foes.

Before the game, the Dodgers lost a right-handed pitcher to a National League squad after he was designated for assignment earlier this week. The DFA, however, made room for Buddy Kennedy on the roster and led the way for the utility man to make his Dodgers debut on Sunday, batting ninth.
