The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 8-6, on Tuesday evening. The Dodgers left the tension-filled contest with an improved record of 45-29.
Part of the ‘festivities’ at Dodger Stadium included manager Dave Roberts collecting his 13th career ejection as a skipper. Both Padres’ star Fernando Tatis Jr. and Shohei Ohtani were hit by pitches before Roberts got his money’s worth and left the eventual win early.
Roberts said after the game that he felt the Padres “absolutely” hit Ohtani on purpose.
Additionally, the batters being pegged by errant pitches started on Monday night when Andy Pages was drilled by Padres right-hander Dylan Cease.
