Dodgers starting catcher Will Smith, who was off to a scorching hot start this season, remains without a firm timetable for a return. Smith, who suffered a concussion last Wednesday, was placed on the seven-day injured list.
Smith is technically eligible to return to the lineup on Thursday in the series opener versus the Cubs in Chicago, however, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Tuesday that Smith is still “days away” from returning.
“Will’s getting better each day. We’re still a ways out for me — he’s still got to catch bullpens, work up a sweat, get his heart rate up.
