Dodgers News: Tony Gonsolin Heads Back to Camelback Ranch, Inching Closer to Return

A day before Michael Grove is set to take his place in the Dodgers’ starting rotation, injured pitcher Tony Gonsolin took another step toward his return. At Dodger Stadium on Sunday, the right-hander threw 40 pitches over two simulated innings. If he comes in feeling no ill effects, he’ll head back to Arizona to face hitters at Camelback Ranch on Wednesday.

The big hurdle for Tony is building up his pitch count. When he injured his ankle in an unlucky incident early in camp, he had made just one start and had thrown just 2 innings at that point.
