The Los Angeles Dodgers are placing RHP Tony Gonsolin on the injured list with an elbow injury, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters ahead of Saturday’s game.
Following Friday night’s game — the worst of Gonsolin’s career in which he allowed five home runs and 10 earned runs in 3.1 innings — Roberts made it clear that a decision would be made regarding a potential IL for Gonsolin, who’s been pitching less than 100 percent for the last four to six weeks.
Well, that decision has been made, and Gonsolin is going on the injured list, where he’ll likely spend the rest of the season, as Roberts confirmed that it’s “unlikely” he returns this season.
