The Dodgers had to make room for Clayton Kershaw on the active and 40-man rosters before Monday’s game. Coming off of a forearm issue that has held him out since before the All-Star break, Kershaw gets the start against Arizona.
To make room, the Dodgers designated Steven Souza Jr for assignment. This is the second time since he has been with the club that he has received a DFA from the club. He did eventually choose to stay with the team the first time around.

Souza was added after AJ Pollock went down with an injury in San Francisco.
