Dodgers RHP Tony Gonsolin, who’s battling an ankle sprain he suffered following a spring training drill last week, will not be ready for Opening Day. Dave Roberts confirmed the news to the media on Friday, saying Gonsolin being ready to start the season is “not gonna happen” (per Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times).
While this isn’t exactly breaking news, as we kind of saw this coming for the last few weeks, it’s now officially confirmed. So, that means RHPs Ryan Pepiot and Michael Grove will, in fact, be battling for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
