Dodgers News: LA signs Pirates infielder, former player announces retirement, Blake Treinen

The Los Angeles Dodgers added some non-roster first base and outfield depth on Thursday, signing former Pittsburgh Pirates utility man Matt Gorski to a minor-league deal.

Gorski, 27, made his MLB debut with the Pirates earlier this season. He hit just .195/.214/.390 in a small sample size of 42 big-league plate appearances, but showcased some impressive power at the Triple-A level with 27 home runs dating back to the start of the 2024 season. He was designated for assignment earlier this month when the Pirates added Yohan Ramírez to their roster.

Gorski will presumably report to Triple-A Oklahoma City, though his current health status is unknown.
