Roberto Clemente Day was yesterday, September 15, but since the Dodgers had the day off, they will be celebrating the day during tonight’s game with the Giants in San Francisco.
As part of that celebration, the entire Dodgers team will be wearing a patch with Clemente’s number 21 on their sleeves, and both Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner will actually wear number 21 during the game.
Kershaw won the Roberto Clemente Award back in 2012 for his work with his wife, Ellen, on their Kershaw’s Challenge charity. As a former winner of the award, Kershaw has been wearing a 21 patch on his hat all season.
