The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially made the roster move we were expecting on Tuesday, adding RHP Gus Varland to the active roster. The team needed to make room on the 40-man roster, though, and outfielder Jake Marisnick was placed on the 60-day IL to do so.
Varland is being called up to replace RHP Joe Kelly, who was placed on the injured list on Sunday with right forearm inflammation.
Varland was picked in the Rule 5 Draft this year by the Milwaukee Brewers, and made eight appearances with them. Through his first seven, he had an impressive 2.
