Dodgers News: Hyun-Jin Ryu Placed On Disabled List, Josh Fields Recalled From Oklahoma City

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Hyun-Jin Ryu on the 10-day disabled list with left hip contusion and recalled Josh Fields from Oklahoma City. Manager Dave Roberts is hopeful the hip tightness will only result in Ryu missing one start.

Los Angeles had planned to keep with a six-man starting rotation through their weekend series against the San Diego Padres, but Monday’s development alters that. Kenta Maeda, Brandon McCarthy and Clayton Kershaw are slated to start during the three-game set at Petco Park.

Ryu felt discomfort in his glute after sliding into second base during the fourth inning of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
