With the news that Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux is out for the season with a torn ACL, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts is working on his plan to fill that hole at short. In talking to the media on Tuesday morning, Roberts said Miguel Rojas, re-acquired from the Marlins this offseason, will get the bulk of the starts at short.
But Roberts also said Chris Taylor will get time at shortstop. Taylor, who came up as a shortstop and moved to the outfield when he was suddenly a good enough hitter to play every day but LA had Corey Seager at short, had been slated to play mostly in the outfield, and Roberts had said the outfield worked better for Taylor because of elbow issues he’s had in the past.
