The Los Angeles Dodgers spent big on their bullpen this past offseason, adding Tanner Scott (four years, $72 million) and Kirby Yates (one year, $13 million) while bringing back Blake Treinen (two years, $22 million).
It didn’t exactly work out.
Scott has a 4.73 ERA across 53.1 innings. Yates has a 5.18 ERA across 40 innings. Treinen has a 4.70 ERA across 23 innings.
Thus, it’s hard to imagine Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers spending big again on the bullpen this offseason. That didn’t stop Jon Heyman of the New York Post from linking the Dodgers to one of the game’s best relievers, though.
