It’s hard to imagine the National League’s starting All-Star catcher and current NL batting average leader being overlooked.
But when it comes to Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith, that’s just the way it is.
Smith may lead the NL with a .323 batting average. He may be second behind only his Dodgers teammate Shohei Ohtani with a .965 OPS. He may be great at throwing out base runners or taking his walks or not striking out. But when it comes to the best players in baseball, Smith is never mentioned.
Then again, that’s just how he likes it.
