The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher Emmet Sheehan and optioned right-handed pitcher Jack Little ahead of Sunday’s game against the Houston Astros.
Manager Dave Roberts announced Saturday that Sheehan would be the starting pitcher for the series finale against the Astros.
Sheehan was optioned just a day after making his first MLB start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023. The Dodgers’ decision to send the right-hander back down to the minors came as a surprise, but Roberts revealed the team opted to keep Justin Wrobleski with the big league team in order to provide length to an overworked bullpen.
