The Dodgers addition of Ruiz was expected. Ruiz is supposed to be the catcher of the future for the Dodgers and this is just another step along the way to that happening. The other four, however, were interesting cases and could have gone either way.
Yadier Alvarez is arguably the most controversial of the bunch. The 22-year old pitcher has had his fair share of issues both on and off the field. Behavioral problems have taken Alvarez out of the mix for improvement along with an already alarming bunch of statistics. But, it appears the Dodgers do not want to give up just yet on their $16 million investment.
