The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the series opener, 2-1, against the San Diego Padres Friday night at Petco Park.
The Dodgers offense managed just one run (a home run from Alex Freeland) against the Padres pitching staff. And so, the Dodgers and Padres are now tied for first in the NL West.
Tyler Glasnow will take the mound for the Dodgers in second game of the series. The right-hander’s last start was also against the Padres, where he allowed two earned runs in five innings.
Opposite Glasnow is Padres left-hander Nestor Cortes, who San Diego acquired at the July 31 trade deadline.
