Top prospect Dalton Rushing will make his MLB debut at catcher. The Dodgers called up the 24-year-old Wednesday, and in a corresponding move, designated longtime backstop Austin Barnes for assignment.
Rushing also has experience in left field, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed the prospect would primarily be playing catcher during his first stint in the big leagues.
