The Los Angeles Dodgers are already getting effective pieces back from the injured list ahead of the final stretch of the regular season, most recently, reliever Michael Kopech and infielder Hyeseong Kim, but right-hander Kyle Hurt is at the tail end of his recovery from Tommy John and can be an immediate asset to the defending champions.
The 27-year-old Hurt has a 1.04 ERA across 8.2 innings at the MLB level since 2023, but boasted a 3.07 ERA during his 13 outings in Triple-A last season before undergoing Tommy John.
Hurt pitched a live batting practice on Saturday as he finally returned to the mound at Dodger Stadium and looks to rejoin Triple-A for his rehab assignment later this week.
