“Imagine that,” Jansen said with a laugh. “Hey, Dodgers fans – it’s my country. How awesome would that be?”
Team Netherlands – which includes Jansen’s native Curacao – wears black-and-orange uniforms during the World Baseball Classic and Jansen has to admit he is tempted to don those colors if the Dutch team reaches the semifinal round at Dodger Stadium. After a 5-0 victory over Korea in pool play, Jansen was caught up in the moment and feeling optimistic about his country’s chances.
