MLB’s countdown of the Top 100 Players Right Now has been going on for a while now, and they’ve gotten into the Top 50. They release the names 10 at a time, and the 41-50 section has a couple familiar names.
Dodgers catcher Will Smith comes in at number 42 — interestingly, he’s one spot behind Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman, whom he was one spot ahead of in last month’s Top 10 Catchers Right Now list. Maybe it’s different ranking criteria, or maybe it’s because Smith played two more games at DH than Rutschman did.
