Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu began his rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga by scattering two hits over four scoreless innings in an 8-2 victory to complete a sweep of Lake Elsinore (San Diego Padres affiliate).
Ryu needed all of 13 pitches to get through a 1-2-3 first inning, which he bookended with strikeouts. Ryu collected another strikeout as part of retiring the side in order in the second inning.
He erased a leadoff single in the third by getting a lineout and inducing an inning-ending double play. On top of mowing his way through the Storm lineup, Ryu was efficient and at 30 pitches up to that point.
