To no one's surprise, the Dodgers used their two September roster spots on Hyeseong Kim and Michael Kopech, who were both returning from rehab assignments. Kopech was technically ready to go a few days before he was actually reactivated, but the Dodgers prioritized Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates in the last days of August.
Kim rejoined the Dodgers officially on Sept. 2 for the opener of their series against the Pirates, but he became the latest player to get caught up in an air travel-related hiccup.
In July, the Red Sox now infamously suffered what sounds like a horrifically turbulent flight from Boston to Minneapolis that left players reeling from motion sickness; Kim didn't have it quite so bad, but Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reportedthat he only arrived in Pittsburgh after a missed connection and delayed flights stranded him and his interpreter at the airport for 14-15 hours.
