While the Los Angeles Dodgers were expected to be at least moderate buyers at the trade deadline this year, they did have some expendable pieces on their roster they didn't mind moving. As ravaged as their pitching staff has been by injuries this season, it was becoming abundantly clear that Dustin May's time with the Dodgers was going to come to an end.
In addition to being a free agent after the season which instantly makes any player a trade candidate, May has struggled to return to the form that saw him establish himself as one of the more exciting pitchers to watch in baseball.
