The Los Angeles Dodgers made it out of the trade deadline with a feared reliever to add to the bullpen, but an All-Star-caliber closer is currently shelved away on the injured list, waiting to rejoin the team.
Tanner Scott was moved to the injured list on July 22 after leaving the night before with an apparent injury, feeling a stinging sensation in his forearm. The southpaw has elbow inflammation as his listed ailment, with initial imaging showing no ligament damage.
This led manager Dave Roberts to initially believe it would be a short stay on the IL.
