The Los Angeles Dodgers rotation has tossed at least eight no-hit innings for the second time in three games. With Yoshinobu Yamamoto taking his 112-pitch no-no into the ninth inning on Sunday, and Tyler Glasnow on the mound with 105 pitches after seven innings Monday, many wondered why manager Dave Roberts put relief pitcher Blake Treinen in the game to start the eighth inning in Monday’s game.
Roberts discussed why he pulled Glasnow, especially after Tanner Scott allowed a hit in the ninth inning souring any chances of a combined no-hitter for LA.
“With Yamamoto, I felt good about him going into the ninth,” Roberts said.
