The Los Angeles Dodgers had a chance to win back-to-back games against the Baltimore Orioles, but both were sullied by Tanner Scott’s performances.
On Friday, the game was tied 1-1 with Scott on the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning. Orioles rookie catcher Samuel Basallo took a fastball 433 feet into the stands to walk off the defending champions. The next night, after 8.2 hitless innings by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jackson Holliday broke things up with a solo shot to make the score, 3-1.
Right-hander Blake Treinen relieved the ace and allowed a double, hit the next batter, and walked the following two hitters after that, walking in a run in the process.
