Much of the baseball world grumbled and groaned when the Los Angeles Dodgers stole the offseason. Less than a month after being crowned World Series champions, the Dodgers headlined the winter by signing Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million deal.
The Dodgers’ successful winter was deemed unfair by many baseball fans, as the general consensus was LA had simply gotten too good. Their pursuits in the offseason seemed to pay off as the Dodgers had ran away with the NL West.
Less than six weeks ago, LA led the division by as many as nine games on July 3.
