Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw Approached Dave Roberts About Pitching in Relief to Save Bullpen

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw reportedly asked manager Dave Roberts about making relief appearances to help out their struggling bullpen.

Kershaw likely won’t be one of the Dodgers’ starting options during their best-of-three Wild Card series, so he has looked to other ways to help the team.

“He’s definitely a realistic option,” Roberts said.

“I think he’s earned the right. He’s open to it. And just kind of where we’re at, we’ve got to get the best guys to get outs. So if Clayton is viable – and he’s viable – then we’re gonna use him.
