The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants on Friday night in what was future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw’s final regular season start at Dodger Stadium.
As unforgettable as the night was with the spotlight on the three-time Cy Young award winner all game long, Kershaw took a moment to apologize to manager Dave Roberts after being removed from the game — as only he could.
Roberts told his southpaw, “Congratulations on a great career,” to which Kershaw responded, “I’m sorry I pitched so poorly.”
Kershaw has had an illustrious past 18 seasons to compare his performance to on Friday, but he left the game after 4.
