Dodgers’ Andrew Friedman Gets Last Laugh After Quiet Trade Deadline

The Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t make any blockbuster trades at the trade deadline, and came under heavy fire for it in the days following.

Teams like the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies went all in for pieces to fuel their World Series-hopeful squads, however everyone else fell short, and the Dodgers reached the World Series once again with minimal business throughout the season.

Near the trade deadline, the general consensus was that the Dodgers needed to build their depth in the bullpen and get a new left fielder. Players linked to the Dodgers included All-Stars such as Mason Miller and Steven Kwan, but president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman remained patient and walked out of the deadline with Alex Call and Brock Stewart.
