As if Alexis Díaz hadn't already been enough of a disappointment for the Los Angeles Dodgers, even his replacement couldn't last more than a day on the active roster before being relegated back to Triple-A.
Less than a full 24 hours after he was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, right-handed reliever Paul Gervase has already been optioned off of the active roster following a bumpy Dodgers debut Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies. He will be replaced by Matt Sauer, who has been recalled in a corresponding move.
Gervase threw 32 pitches (21 strikes) through two innings of relief and surrendered a walk and an earned run on two hits while striking out two in the Dodgers' 8-3 loss to the Rockies.
