The front office crew of the Dodgers said they were going to make a move for a bullpen arm at the waiver trade deadline, and they made good on that promise today.
After claiming relief pitcher Ryan Madson from the Washington Nationals on Thursday, the Dodgers made the trade official on Friday, sending pitcher Andrew Istler to the nation’s capital in return.
Istler was a 23rd round draft pick in 2015. He worked his way up from High-A ball to Triple-A this season, ending with 5-2/3 scoreless innings in Oklahoma City.
