The New York Post’s Jon Heyman revealed the details of newly-signed Los Angeles Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz on Monday.
The Dodgers signed Diaz to a three-year, $69 million contract Dec. 9.
Heyman reports Diaz received a $9 million signing bonus, and is set to make $14 million in 2026, with $4.5 million deferred.
He will earn $23 million in both 2027 and 2028, with $4.5 million deferred in each year. The Dodgers also hold a conditional $6.5 million club option for the 2029 season. If the Dodgers pick the option up, Diaz will earn $750,000 for finishing both 45 and 50 games, and will earn $1 million for finishing 55 games in 2029.
