Even before he left the game after taking a comeback line drive to the thigh, it was clear that Wednesday simply wasn't Shohei Ohtani's night.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way superstar got the start on the mound in Denver for what should have been an easy opportunity to handle business against the National League-worst Colorado Rockies, but he got roughed up for five earned runs on nine hits through four innings in what would end up being an embarrassing 8-3 loss for the Dodgers.
But while Ohtani's rough start may have put the Dodgers in a bad spot, he was far from their only problem against Colorado.
