The Los Angeles Dodgers called up top prospect Dalton Rushing just over a week ago, but he’s already starting to settle into his new role with the team. Rushing attributes his early comfortability in the big leagues to the Dodgers’ welcoming reception of the rookie.

The backup catcher explained how the Dodgers have ensured he is put in a position to thrive.
“(The Dodgers) have tried their best to not only match me up from an offensive standpoint against the guys that I’m going to be best comfortable with in the box, but also just making sure that I’m catching guys that I’m kind of familiar with at the same time,” Rushing said to The Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett.
