Corey Seager is unanimous NL Rookie of the Year

Corey Seager lived up to the hype.

Seager began the 2016 season as the consensus No. 1-ranked prospect in baseball. He finished it as the National League’s Rookie of the Year.

The Dodgers’ 22-year-old shortstop was the unanimous choice as the 2016 winner.

Seager becomes the 17th Rookie of the Year winner in the Dodgers’ franchise history (the most of any franchise). He is the Dodgers’ first ROY since outfielder Todd Hollandsworth in 1996 and the first Dodgers shortstop to win the award.

“Obviously, I have a biased perspective, but I think he’s the best shortstop in the National League,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Seager.
