Clayton Kershaw further cemented himself into the record books Wednesday evening when earning his 3,000th career strikeout in a Los Angeles Dodgers’ come-from-behind victory over the Chicago White Sox in front of a sellout crowd at Dodger Stadium.
Kershaw became the 20th pitcher in Major League Baseball history to reach the 3,000-strikeout plateau. Only three other left-handed pitchers (CC Sabathia, Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton) have achieved this distinction.
There’s no question Kershaw is one of the best players in the history of the franchise. He’ll forever be linked to Sandy Koufax given the fact both are two of the most decorated left-handed pitchers to ever throw a baseball.
