Brett Anderson exits Dodgers' loss with another fluke injury

ATLANTA >> Brett Anderson was a hot mess Tuesday.

The Dodgers’ pitcher was sweating through a typical summer’s day in Georgia, literally and figuratively, when a freak injury mercifully and surprisingly sent him to the showers.

Anderson had only thrown 2 2/3 innings against the Atlanta Braves when he left with an injury diagnosed as “irritation” in the area of his left Achilles tendon. Anderson was able to walk off the mound on his own power and was wearing a walking boot on his left foot after the game, which the Braves won 4-3.

Anderson will undergo an MRI Wednesday.
