LOS ANGELES -- The a Brandon Beachy era with the Dodgers isn't yet over. Beachy, who was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster on Thursday after the Dodgers' three-team, 13-player trade with the Braves and Marlins, has cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Beachy, as a player with at least three years of major league service time, had the right to decline the minor league assignment and become a free agent. But he accepted the assignment, and will start for Oklahoma City on Monday night against New Orleans.
