The Dodgers' front office must've been patting themselves on the back when they sent Gavin Lux to the Reds last offseason. It wasn't that Lux was a problem that they needed to get rid of, even if he clearly didn't fit into the roster anymore after they signed Hyeseong Kim, but the return from Cincinnati netted them something of a white whale.
LA took Mike Sirota in the 16th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, but he declined to sign and went to play college ball instead. The Reds picked him up in the third round of the 2024 draft, but the Dodgers got their guy and a supplemental pick when Lux was shipped off.
