Bellinger gives Kershaw cushion with grand slam

LOS ANGELES -- Cody Bellinger gave Clayton Kershaw a comfortable cushion when he launched a grand slam off Jhoulys Chacin in the third inning of Thursday's series finale against the Brewers.

Bellinger watched the towering drive sail down the right-field line, flipped his bat and raised his hands over his head moments after the ball bounced off the foul pole. Per Statcast™, the ball left the bat at 95 mph, had a 39-degree launch angle and reached a maximum height of 114 feet.

The slam was Bellinger's second of the season -- the previous coming in a June 22 road win over the Mets -- and third of his career.
