Barnes' homer not enough vs. Bumgarner

LOS ANGELES -- Run-scoring singles from Buster Posey and Denard Span helped the Giants beat the Dodgers, 2-1, Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner stymied a Dodgers lineup that was without Justin Turner, holding Los Angeles to five hits and one run in 7 2/3 innings. The Dodgers also had to call on their bullpen early in the contest, after starter Hyun-Jin Ryu took a line drive off his left forearm in the third inning. Right-hander Brandon McCarthy, a former starter in the Dodgers' rotation, pitched two innings of relief, allowing one run.
