Austin Barnes Wishes He Could Have Been With Clayton Kershaw for 3,000 Strikeout With Dodgers

When Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw recorded his 3,000th strikeout against the Chicago White Sox last week, there was one notable person missing from the historic night.

Austin Barnes, who previously spent his entire MLB career with the Dodgers, was not able to watch his longtime teammate and friend become the 20th member of the 3,000 strikeout-club from the dugout.

“I wish I could have been there,” Barnes said to The Athletic’s Sam Blum. “I’m just super excited for him. It’s an unbelievable accomplishment.”
