HOUSTON – The player who followed Mike Scioscia as the Dodgers catcher is about go into the Hall of Fame.
Mike Piazza will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Sunday, going in along with Ken Griffey Jr.
Scioscia played alongside Piazza briefly in 1992, his last season with the Dodgers, and a couple years in spring training.
“I knew he had the potential to do what he did,” Scioscia said Friday. “The only question mark with Mike was defensively. Would he be able to stay at catcher? You knew his bat played, whether he was playing first or third or whatever.
