Today's card eluded me for years and years. It almost never popped up on eBay and when it did the price was far too extravagant for my tastes and for what previous comps suggested it should go for. I was complacent with the notion that when I did finally nab it, I would have to suck it up and overpay. That never sits well with me, as I'm still fairly frugal, but it's such a cool piece I knew my Roy Campanella Collection would feel incomplete without it.
The cardboard gods eventually relented and let this well-loved copy appear for a price I was truly comfortable and happy with.
